SUMMARY:Spine Smart Strength Training
DESCRIPTION:Tuesdays and Thursdays\, 9/3-26th\, 10:30am \nStrengthen your whole body in ways that do not compromise your spine. No strength training experience is required. We use a combination of body weight exercises\, resistance bands and dumbbells to build whole body strength while focusing on proper alignment and form. \nThis class is limited to 5 participants and enrolls on a monthly basis. Classes take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30am for a total of 8 classes per month. DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, 9/22\, 1pm  \nPack some snacks\, water and your hiking shoes and meet us at Colyer Lake for a community outing. This event is free and open to everyone. We will walk the 2.6 mile trail around the lake. Stick around after the hike to enjoy a snack or meal by the water. \nThe Colyer Lake trail is relatively easy. DESCRIPTION:Tuesdays 5-6:15pm\, September 24th – October 29th \nJoin us for a transformative Yoga for Cancer Workshop Series designed to support and empower individuals impacted by cancer. This series is led by Mindful Yoga for Cancer and Livestrong at the YMCA instructor Kristin Leung. Kristin brings over two decades of experience in movement and mindfulness and offers a holistic approach to wellness tailored specifically for cancer survivors\, from the day of diagnosis on. \nWorkshop Highlights:\n\nGentle and Adaptive Yoga Practices: Each session includes gentle yoga sequences that are carefully crafted to accommodate all levels of ability and energy. Modifications and props will be utilized to ensure comfort and accessibility.\nMindful Breathing and Relaxation Techniques: Learn breathing exercises and relaxation methods to reduce stress\, enhance mental clarity\, and promote a sense of calm and well-being.\nMeditation and Mindfulness: Engage in guided meditations and mindfulness practices aimed at cultivating a positive mindset\, emotional balance\, and inner peace.\nEducational Components: Gain valuable insights into the benefits of yoga for cancer recovery and overall health. Discover tips for integrating wellness practices into daily life.\n\nWhether you are a cancer survivor\, currently undergoing treatment\, or a caregiver looking for ways to support a loved one\, this workshop series is designed to provide a gentle\, nurturing space for healing and growth. \nThis series is limited to 10 students in-studio only.  We are offering a pay as you wish sliding scale for this series.
